A statement from the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) reads states that “The CCIAP is calling on the corporate sector to apply the tax credit before the deadline.
• Friday, January 20th a resolution was passed Resolution No. 201-940, through which the period for recognition of tax credit for the purchase of the fiscal equipment is being extended.
This decision indicates that employers have until March 31st to submit their application for recognition of tax credit for the purchase of fiscal equipment. This procedure should be performed at the Department of Fiscal Incentives, located on the first floor of the former Ministry of Health Building, next to the building known as Hacienda y Tesoro on Avenida Peru.

The Directorate General of Revenue (DGI) has extended the deadline for implementation of fiscal equipment for tax purposes until 1st March 2012.
A press release from the Ministry of Economy and Finance reads:
The first of March 2012 is the deadline for the implementation and use of tax equipment throughout the country, and the same date is also the closing date for recognition and transfer of tax credits that taxpayers are entitled to for the purchase of the equipment. This action is due to the irresponsibility of some importers who practically ripped off those who bought in good faith, announced the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Economy and Finance.

In Panama, the state will assume the cost for fiscal printers for small businesses in the form of tax credits.
Panamanian businesses with turnovers of less than $36 thousand a year will have access to a tax credit for up to 100% of the value of the equipment. The credit is for the purchase of a single computer whose price can not exceed $850.
