Panama Hotel Supply Expanded

With an investment of $13 million, the Hotel Victoria will open its doors on August 5 in the Panamanian capital.

The new 127 room hotel will serve the corporate business segment, said Carlos Herrera, a company representative.

It is estimated that during 2011 there will be approximately five thousand new rooms available in the capital city.

Along with the Hotel Victoria, also being inaugurated in 2011 are the Megapolis, with two thousand rooms and Westin Playa Bonita.

"Fidel Reyes, director of FR Consulting, said that the opening of hotels like the Victoria, which is a 4 star facility, will force hotels to charge according to their service level," reported Prensa.com.

The construction of the new accommodation has already begun in the "Costa del Este" area of the Panamanian capital and is expected to finish by the end of 2012.

"Osvaldo Librizzi, Starwood president for Latin America, said that Westin Panama combined with Westin Playa Bonita will enable larger groups to be brought to Panama," reports Pa-digital.com.pa.

Grace Hotels to Invest $18 Million in Panama

The 60-room boutique hotel will be administered by F&F Properties.

Opening is scheduled for April 2012.

"Grace Hotels is part of Libra Group, a global conglomerate owned by the Logothetis family, which made its wealth trough sea trade ventures. In addition to Grace Hotels, F&F Properties is building the Hilton Panama hotel and the Waldorf Astoria Panamera", reported Prensa.com.
