Panama Invites Bids for $25 Million Residential Project

Named “Residencial Manuel Castillo”, the project includes residential and commercial areas.

It comprises a residential area with apartment buildings, lots for commercial space, a nursery, health center, a lot for a police station and recreational spaces (playground, parks). It is intended to be a complete housing solution for the province of Colón.

It will be located in a 6 hectare terrain in Santa Rita, Sabanitas, in the province of Colón.

The contract also includes all the required studies, blueprints, detailed technical specs and building the project.

The Ministry of Housing has put out to tender the " Residencial Nueva Providencia " ("New Providence Resideces) a 6-hectare urban development project in the province of Colon.

The initiative includes urban development made up of residential (multi-level buildings), lots designated for commercial trade, a nursery, a health center, a lot for a police station, recreation areas (playground, parks) and all the infrastructure services needed to provide a complete housing solution to the population of Colon.

Panama: 5,000 Houses to be Built

The Ministry of Housing has announced the construction in the coming years, of 5,000 houses in the Province of Colón aimed to address the housing deficit.

"For over 20 years this province has been facing a severe shortage of homes, which is why the Government is currently developing the following housing the projects: Manuel Castillo, with 500 apartment units, Nuevo Arco Iris and La Victoria, with about 350 houses, and Senior Buena Vista, with 300, plus about 200 homes in Portobelo. "

Two Offers Received for “Manuel Castillo” Residential Project

The developers Ingeniería Rec S.A. and Nova S.A. were the only companies to bid for the $25 million project.

The contract is expected to be awarded in the first week of August.

“In the site visit five companies had an expressed an interest in bidding but only two have formalised their intention to stay in the project,” reports Prensa.com.
