Panama Maritime Simulation Conference Venue

The ACP will host the International Conference on Marine Simulation and Ship Maneuverability (MARSIM'09) from August 17 - 20.

This is the first time that MARSIM will be held here. This conference is where maritime industry leaders, academicians and researchers from around the world gather to share the latest developments in the simulation of maritime safety and ship maneuverabilit. They will also discuss the progress of the Canal Expansion Project.

"The ACP uses simulation technology to improve ship navigation safety through the Canal and expedite our customers’ transition. We are proud to host the MARSIM'09 conference, a scientific platform for sharing best practices in the maritime simulation industry," said Captain Rogelio Altafulla, from the practical section.

Maritime Ministry proposed for Panama

The president of the Panama Maritime Chamber (CMP), Ruben Karamañites proposes that a Maritime Ministry be established.

In order for the maritime sector, which represents 20% of the GDP of Panama, to have representation on the Cabinet Council, the creation of a Maritime Ministry is being proposed.

Panama Maritime IX: February 8 - 11

Operators from more than 20 countries will participate in the four day port event, considered to be the most important one in the region.

The inauguration will be held on February 8, 2009 and will include the presence of the Secretary General of the World Maritime Organization (OMI), Efthimios Mitropoulos, who will be the main speaker along with important local and international guest speakers from the shipping world.

Panama to Host the XV Maritime International Congress

The conference will take place from 8th to 11th of February 2011 at Hotel El Panama.

The agenda includes discussions on issues such as maritime business, environmental protection, security management and transportation of hazardous substances.

"The event will bring together key players in the national and international maritime industry, and with participation of exhibitors from countries such as Argentina, Sweden, Paraguay, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Spain, Colombia, Brazil, Spain, Venezuela, Uruguay and Panama, among others," informed Pa-digital.com.pa.
