We continue to work and lobby Congress and more specifically the Democratic Congressmen because they are the ones who are most opposed to the agreement, the Panamanian ambassador in Washington, Frederico Humbert, reported.

Panama does not have a problem right now with the votes need to pass the treaty, we need the rite moment to come to get the agreement passed. Whenever the new administration decides that they are prepared to take new FTA's to Congress, I have no doubt that Panama will get the majority of votes, because we have the support of both republican and democratic Congressmen.
