Panama's tourism minister, Solomon Shamah said the estimated investment for the plan is close to $363,000. The implementation requires coordination between the Tourism Authority, various municipalities and the Ministry of Public Works.
"He said that in Boquete five information stations and five map printers are planned, in Volcano there will be fourteen signals and ten in Southern Veraguas, costing $20,192.
In protected areas, the distinctive signposts will be seen in the wildlife refuge Isla Cañas, in the La Amistad International Park, the wildlife haven Isla Iguana and in the National Park Campana, at a cost of $8,000", reports Panamaamerica.com.pa

The Panamanian Tourism Authority is working on a system dubbed “Touristic GPS”.
Tourists will be able to rent GPS devices at Tocumen International Airport, which will assist them in reaching Panama’s touristic destinations.

The Tourism Authority of Panama has launched a campaign for the international market called "Unimos al mundo" (Uniting the world)
Salomon Shamah, the Minister of Tourism, said the campaign will invest $4 million in 2011, while for 2012 there is an estimated guideline of between $6 and $8 million.
