Panama to be Promoted in International Fairs

Panama Invest 2011 is a series of conferences in different countries that aim to promote the opportunities offered by the country for the establishment of foreign investment.

PROINVEX is the agency for attracting investment and promoting exports in strategic sectors identified by the Government's Strategic Plan 2009-2014.

Panama Invest 2011 will promote in key markets the following sectors: maritime, logistics and transportation, mining, tourism and financial services. The events will be held in Brazil on June 16, in Toronto, Canada on June 17, Madrid, Spain on 12 July, Tokyo, Japan, in September, Munich, Germany in October, and finally, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and London, UK, in November.

On these occasions a variety of business opportunities can be seen for companies interested in establishing operations in Panama in areas identified as important for investment. In addition, Panama Invest will introduce the concept of the strategic role that Panama plays as a platform for business operations in Latin America.

Regional Office Set up to Promote Investment

The office will be in charge of developing investments in Central America and coordinating the arrival of companies interested in investing.

The creation of the office forms part of a strategic plan designed to attract foreign capital to the region.

"The presidential delegate for the promotion of investments in Nicaragua, Álvaro Baltodano, stated that the idea is to research all the strategic regional areas that can be optimized in order to attract more investment," reports Laprensa.com.ni.

Costa Rican Trade Minister in India
