Panamanian Authority has renewed two wind farm permits for Spanish-Panamanian Group ITP: Boquete for 100 MW and Veraguas I for 52 MW
Panamanian Authority has renewed two wind farm permits belonging to the ITP Group, that of Boquete for 100 MW and that of Veraguas I for 52 MW. The later is also undergoing an extension to 92 MW.

In order to proceed with the first of two extensions of the Veraguas I project and one of the Boquete project, the Spanish-Panamanian Group has decided to reorganize its project portfolio and cancel its Veraguas II and Veraguas III wind projects.

ITP, which has already finished preliminary wind studies and all plans for both projects and should be resuming later this month environmental and electrical impact studies, requested on the 27th of April to the transmission Company, ETESA, access to the network for both its projects.

ITP has programmed works to start by the first quarter 2011 and provisional commissioning by the end of 2011. The wind turbines that have been initially selected could be delivered in Panamá first quarter 2011.
