The process of inviting companies to participate in the bidding process will begin between March and April of 2012, and the new concession holder could be found before the end of the year, he added.
"According to the 'law of concession for the multipurpose specialized containers port terminal, phase I, the port of Central American Union', bidders must submit and implement a plan for an initial investment amount of at least $30 million over five years for operating equipment and facilities. The concession period will be up to 30 years and the company that wins the tender will be responsible for administration, equipment, commercial exploitation, infrastructure development, promotion, positioning and generating international business in the port", reported Laprensagrafica.com.
