Quality coffee from El Salvador enters Costa Rica

The Coffee Cup, a gourmet coffee brand from El Salvador, opened the first of nine stores in the city of Grecia.

Elfinancierocr.com reports: "The salvadoran entrepreneur indicated that the contract with the costa rican company Coffe and Talk includes opening nine additional stores in different locations of Costa Rica, and the investment for each of them will be between $125.000 and $150.000, depending on location and size."

The Coffee Cup Expands in Costa Rica

Salvadoran coffee chain 'The Coffee Cup' opened its second store in the country.

The chain plans to open an additional store in San José International Airport in 2010.

"Next year the brand will start operations in Austin, Texas, in the United States. This store will open in February 2010, marking a milestone for the company, which had targeted the U.S. market for 17 years", reported Elsalvador.com.

Starbucks in Costa Rica

Next May the U.S. chain will open its first store in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The announcement was made via a press release from the Pan American Coffee Corporation, a company that promotes Salvadoran coffee shops across the Isthmus.

Nacion.com reported quoted Manuela Velasquez, Starbucks marketing manager for Central America: "Our main goal is to bring the Starbucks experience to Costa Ricans.

The Coffee Cup Forays into United States

In February, the Salvadoran company will open a store in Austin, Texas.

Samuel Quirós is the president of Quality Grains, holding company for The Coffee Cup stores. He said they intend to open 10 stores in Texas in their first year of U.S. operations.

"At first, the Austin store will operate under a hybrid business model, 50% property of the company and 50% franchise.

Epa Hardware Stores to Open New Shop in Costa Rica

January 2010

The Venezuelan hardware store chain will invest $9.5 million in opening its fourth store in the country, located in Colima de Tibás.

According to information gathered by local newspaper El Financiero, "Ferreterías Epa" will build the store and a distribution center in a 34.088 square meter lot.
