Spanish Builder Arrives in Panama

The company Grupo Franco, with operations in various countries in Europe, opened its regional office for Latin America in Panama.

The builder will do development work, such as road repair, from its new office.

The President of Grupo Franco, Alejandro Franco, told La Prensa during the inauguration of the new offices, that “the geographic location, economic and political stability, and connectivity were some of the reasons the company decided to set up an office in Panama.”

Bosch Opens Regional Office in Panama

The German company has opened an office in Panama to serve its customers in the isthmus.

Marketing and sales queries by Bosch customers in Central America and the Andean area will be handled from Panama City.

An article in Prensa.com notes: "At these facilities the multinational staff will be responsible for promoting automotive products, renewable energy, packaging, construction and security for the region, said Helmuth Obilcnik, regional president of Bosch Central America, the Caribbean, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru."

Sony Opens Regional Office in Panama

Starting January Sony will establish a regional distribution center.

The distribution center will serve electronic parts for the Central and South American markets.

"In addition to distribution of spare parts in Panama-Pacific, these regional offices will market its core products for both regions: Central and South America", reports the article in Prensa.com.

Mars Installs Regional HQ in Panama

The chocolate maker responsible for M&M's, Snickers, Mars and Dove will set up its regional office in the country.

From there it will serve Central America and the Caribbean.

"It is the 31st company setting up its office in Panama under Law 41 2007, which fosters the installation of Regional Headquarters of Multinational Companies", reported Prensa.com.

Rise of Franchises in Guatemala

The country has become the largest market for franchising in the region, with sales of $300 million annually.

Of all the franchises operating in the country, who together generate about 525,000 direct jobs, 65 are national chains and of these, some already have a presence in other countries such as Pollo Campero, and La Holandesa among others.
