More Time to Bid on Panama Bay Cleanup

The Panamanian Health Ministry has extended until December 16 the deadline for submitting offers for consulting services related to sanitation works in the City and the Bay.

The Ministry of Health, with the aim of obtaining greater participation in the tender, has expanded the term established in the invitation published on September 27, 2011, by which it invited companies to express their interest in providing the requested services.

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the Project Coordination Unit (PCU), as indicated at the end of the announcement, no later than 4:00 o’clock Panama time, on December 16, 2011.

The consulting firm awarded with the contract will conduct the studies for the construction of additional works to consolidate the collection system, transmission, interception and treatment of waste-water from Panama City.

The Panamanian Ministry of Public Works has adjourned until 22 December receipt of bids for the tender.

The project, which has a price tag of $88.5 million, is for the redevelopment of the Paso Canoa - Puerto Armuelles road.

In the approval meeting a total of 19 companies showed interest in the project.

Invitation to Tender for $33 Million Sewage Treatment Contract

Panama's national institute responsible for drainage and sewers (IDAAN in Spanish) is seeking bidders to carry out improvement works for a regional sewage system.

The sewer project is located in the town of Chitré, south west of the Panamanian capital on the Azurero Peninsula.

Honduras: $ 1.6 Million for Sewers Project

February 2011

Municipality of El Negrito is planning a $ 1.6 million sewer project.

City officials asked the central government for funding and it seems that funds will be provided by the Honduran Social Investment Fund (FHIS).

Currently only 20% of the urban center of this area has sewer services.
