The globalization has impacted the economies of Central America, embodied in free trade agreements, establishment of transnational corporations and the creation of service centers, generating a growing demand for legal services. This is essential as Central America is viewed as a single economic block.

The international expansion of Costa Rican firms is due to the opening of offices in other regional countries and even outside of CA, or by associating with other law firms to form regional legal counsel groups.

The article by Cesar Brenes Quiros, from Elfinancierocr.com, states that 76 new positions were created by the opening of Costa Rican firms abroad between 2009 and 2010."
