Tourism: Interest from European Investors in Nicaragua

During the Encuentro Empresarial (Business Meeting) between Nicaragua and Europe, Italian and Spanish investors expressed their interest in investing in the tourism sector.

Regarding this subject the head of the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism (Intur), Mario Salinas, noted that companies are primarily interested in the construction industry, specializing in transportation projects.

Elnuevodiario.com.ni quoted the official as saying, "The road is an investment they would be undertaken with a concession given by the Government of Nicaragua, so meaning that there would be a toll primarily for foreigners entering from Costa Rica so that (investors) within a certain period, and according to economic studies, can get a return on their investment.
