Tourism Picks Up in Rural Nicaragua

Between January and July growth of 5% was reported in rural community tourism.

The 90 farms that are part of Nicaragua's Agro-tourism Farms initiative have reported an increase in tourist numbers, comments Harold Ramos Orozco, president of Nicaraguan Rural Community Tourism Network (Renitural in Spanish).

Ramos added to Laprensa.com.ni that, "the project is public-private partnership that seeks to create farming tourism models that can be used by the 90 farms that belong to the scheme".

$1 million invested in Agro-tourism Fair Grounds in Costa Rica

The first Agro-Tourism Fair Grounds will be built in a 25,000 m2 area located in Puntarenas.

Elfinancierocr.com reports: "Construction will begin this semester and will include the surveying of the land for buildings and the fair grounds. Later, it is expected that the earth works will begin, along with the fencing of the area, as well as the internal and external divisions of the property."

Colombia and El Salvador Agree on Cooperation

The Export Promotion Fund of Colombia will advise on the creation and design of touristic coffee farms in El Salvador.

The announcement was made by the Colombian president as part of the inauguration of Tourism Showcase XXX, orgnized by the National Association of Travel and Tourism of Colombia.
