UCCAEP, the Union of Costa Rican Private Enterprise Chambers and Associations, submitted president-elect Laura Chinchilla a list of 10 things they consider crucial for the country to move forward:

1. Reducing the number of public administration procedures, and making them more efficient.
2. Increasing security.
3. Assuring energy supply; making it less dependent on fossil fuels.
4. Strengthening the socioeconomic aspect of education and its relation to economic development.
5. Updating labor regulations.
6. Fostering public investment in infrastructure.
7. Assisting productive sectors.
8. Productive and environmental sustainability.
9. Promoting formality in the social security system.
10. Promoting macroeconomic stability.
