XXI Latin American Congress for Ports

With an emphasis on multimodaling and logistics, the port community on the continent will meet in Antigua, a city declared Historical Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO, between 9 and April 12, 2012, where authorities and executives of international port terminals, business sector providers, will gather to participate in the meeting organized by the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) and the National port Commission (NPC) in Guatemala convening under the theme: "Present and Future of American Ports in the Era of Multimodality and Logistics. "

The organizers expect a successful gathering for all stakeholders involved in port activities in Central America, the Caribbean and South America, seeing as the Congress of the AAPA's is an annual meeting par excellence for the port authorities and companies in this region. It is also hoped that delegations from the U.S., Europe, Asia and Africa will be present, having actively participated in previous editions of this conference, and that they use this platform for gaining receiving on global port context and to make contact with their peers.

The 17th Latin American Ports Congress was to open today in Panama.

The event is organized by the Maritime Authority of Panama, the Canal Authority of Panama, and the American Association of Port Authorities.
