San Jose, Costa Rica, is the third best city in Latin America, second only to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, in terms of favorable conditions for the outsourcing industry.

The municipal authorities of San Pedro Sula are preparing the documents for a tender for a parking regulation and collection of charges project in the city.
The mayor of San Pedro Sula and the Public Private Partnership Association will carry out the proposed controlled parking project in order to bring order to the streets and avenues of the city, which has 830 parking spaces.

Allied Global has announced plans this year to add 800 jobs to its operations in Guatemala, making a total of 3,200 employees in Central America.
Along with the opening of 800 new jobs in Guatemala, Alejandra Rivas, marketing manager of the company, said they have plans to open a new call center in Honduras in May.

A bill entitled "English for All" aims to promote English language learning, so the country may take advantage of many job and development opportunities that it is currently missing out on.
The project "English for All Act" is among a package of economic recovery bills being promoted by the economy committee of Parliament, said the representative Pedro Muadi Menendez, from the ruling Partido Patriota to Lahora.com.gt.

Language Line Services announced it will double the translation and interpretation services it provides to the United States in the form of 911 calls, legal proceedings in courts, and health services.
A statement from CINDE reads:
Language Line Services will double its operation in Costa Rica
• The company has been operating in the country for 10 years and provides real time interpretation services for English-Spanish calls in the U.S., such as 911 calls, legal and health services, among others.

The Salvadoran Coffee Council stated that the" tender has been created because PROCAFE has not been fully complying with transfer and research services."
The Salvadoran Foundation for Coffee Research (Procafé) is the body that usually provides transfer and technological research services as well as statistics generated by the coffee sector, services which have now been put out to tender. The receipt of bids will be on Monday 26th and six institutions have requested details and conditions, including Procafé.

The agency Invest In Guatemala has announced the start of construction of a data center for GBM, an American subsidiary of IBM, with an investment of $70 million.
GBM, a subsidiary of IBM, will lay the foundation stone in March for the construction of a new complex to house a data center in Guatemala, which will enable provision of a ‘cloud computing’ service for Central American companies.
