IFC will finance part of $ 44 million in road repairs in Tegucigalpa and Comayaguela.
The money will be channeled through three local banks: Ficohsa, Atlantida and Banco de Occidente, covering 36% of the $ 44 million credit loan the municipalities have with these banks.

Honduran banks reported $11.3 billion in assets at the end of 2008, an increase of 11%.
The National Banking and Insurance Commission reported the results for 2008, in which Bac-Bamer Bank topped the list with $1.8 billion in assets, followed by Atlantida Bank with $1.6 billion and Ficohsa with $1.55 billion.

The loan, grated by the Central America Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE), was approved from the beginning of this year by Western Bank in order to facilitate the development of the sectors, indicated company president, Jorge Bueso.
