The National Bank has put out to tender construction of a new branch in Tamarindo, Guanacaste Province.

The project consists of construction of a building for a National Bank branch in Tamarindo, Guanacaste province. It includes all works described in the plans and specifications prepared by the consulting firm CONDIS.

Only the Banco Popular plans to open ten new offices, the rest have plans from only one or two openings.

The National Bank of Costa Rica (BNCR) has put out to tender the construction of a new building in Naranjo.
The new structure will be located on land owned by the National Bank, situated in the canton of Naranjo, Alajuela province, across from the southwest corner of the park.

The National Bank (Banco Nacional in Spanish) if putting out to tender the refurbishment and expansion of its Agency Building in San Pedro, Montes de Oca.
The remodeling and expansion included in the tender contract is to be carried out in the same building where the Agency currently operates the Banco Nacional de Costa Rica in San Pedro de Montes de Oca, opposite Kennedy Park in San Pedro, San Jose.

In the last ten years the number of banks operating in the country fell by 52.6%.
According to information from the Superintendency of Banks (SIB), in 1999 there were 38 banks operating in the country, dropping to 18 in 2010. In contrast, sector earnings rose 1736.7%.
Bankers and financial analysts agree today that the financial system is stronger.

The Colombian banking group is planning to open a local banking unit in Panama in order to benefit from the country's economic growth.
Bancolombia's CFO told the Wall Street Journal that it hopes to satisfy the growing demand for credit to finance Panama's infrastructure projects.
An article on emii.com comments that, "the new Panamanian branch will finance local individuals and companies in the country. Presently, the Colombian bank is operating an offshore bank in Panama, which offers services for foreigners".

'Banco General Costa Rica', 100% subsidiary of Panamanian Banco General S.A., inaugurated a new branch in the country.
The bank entered Costa Rica's market in May 2009. This new branch is located in Curridabat, in the capital city of San Jose.
