Five regulations signed by the COMIECO will facilitate trade within the region and minimize the cost of economic exchange.
The Council of Ministers of Economy (Comieco) agreed to sign 5 regulations to standardize the use of packaging and labels at the regional level, in order to facilitate trade and minimize costs of economic exchange in the isthmus, reported Agencia Guatemalteca de Noticias.

The agreement negotiated with the World Trade Organization obliges the entry of 880 tonnes, of which 130 will be imported from Costa Rica.
The 880 tonnes of pork will be sent to Panama between 17 July to 31 October this year as part of a regular tariff negotiated by World Trade Organization (WTO).

In the past eight years, El Salvador fell 43 places in the ranking of the World Economic Forum on Competitiveness. In 2011 it ranked 91 out of 142 countries, while in 2003 it was at position 43.

More businessmen are considering setting up in industrial zones in the Panamanian province, where with an investment of $250,000 and two hectares of land they can install themselves in a free zone.
Law 32 of 5th April 2009 allows holders of an area of two hectares, plus an investment of $250,000, to establish free trade zones, which, according to several businesses, is a good option for a province under development, reports Prensa.com.

As of January 3rd, 2012 the Salvadoran Chamber of Commerce of Quebec was established with the Federal Government of Canada, and will be officially launched today.
