The Inter-American Development Bank will finance "Playa Equipada", a touristic endeavor located in Tela.
René Gómez, who heads the Municipal Tourism Unit (UMT), explained that "Playa Equipada" will comprise recreation areas, kiosks, pedestrian areas, playgrounds for children and a pier for motorboats.

Once the construction by the Public Works Minister is finished, the Civil Aeronautics Authority will decide if they build an air terminal.
The vice mayor of Tela explained how important is this event for tourism in the area: "It will have effects not only in our municipality, but in the entire country. It will reignite the tourism corridor between Tegucigalpa, Tela and Rotán, enabling faster access for tourists visiting locations in the north of the country", reported Laprensahn.com.

The first "Expo empaques (Expo Package) Honduras 2008" will be held at the Honduras Maya Hotel Convention Center in Tegucigalpa from October 13-14.
The event is sponsored by the Atlantida Bank and is organized by the Foundation for Investment and Development of Exports (FIDE). It will have lecturers and a round of international business and commerce.
