Growth rates are lower, and statistics show that there are 132 cell lines per 100 inhabitants, a fact that is leading phone companies to adopt new strategies for growth.
The growth rate of mobile telephony in Guatemala decreased from 2.5 million lines per year in 2005 to only about 460 thousand in 2010, a sign of market maturity. Today, Guatemala has 132 mobile phone lines per 100 inhabitants, in other words there are more phones than the entire population.

The firm Ingesis of Guatemalan origin, specialist in IT solutions for large enterprises in the region, has opened operations in Costa Rica, reported ElNuevoDiario.com.ni.
According to Marketwire Hispanic Newsline, "Ingesis is represented in Central America by SAP software and business applications for smartphones and tablets. It has 100 employees."

The Superintendency for Competition in El Salvador has sanctioned four telephone companies for agreeing jointly to a single fee for the provision of one of their services.
The Board (CD) of the Superintendencia de Competencia (SC) fined Telemóvil, Telefonica, Digicel and Intelfon a total of $1,215,497.94 for agreeing to jointly fix the rate of $ 0.21 plus VAT per minute for calls from the traditional local phone network to a mobile phone.

The rapid development of mobile telephony continues in Panama, where 7.2 million active mobile lines are registered.
The Public Service Authority (ASEP) reports that there were 7.2 million active cell phones lines in December 2011, an increase of 634,742 lines compared to December 2010, when 6.6 million active mobile phones were recorded.
