The Salvadoran Foundation for Economic and Social Development, Fusades, has presented a report entitled "Legal and Institutional Situation" for the second half of 2011.
The Department of Legal Studies, DEL, this morning released the Report of Legal and Institutional Situation of the second half of 2011, by which the legal and institutional activity in the country is systematically tracked. The report aims to contribute to the national discussion with new inputs to make public policies better, improving the business climate and strengthening democratic institutions.

The Ministry of Economy has launched a National Quality Policy which aims to turn El Salvador into a more competitive country.

Economy Minister Hector Dada Hirezi launched this December 13 the National Quality Policy, the aim of which is not only to make a difference by turning El Salvador into a more competitive country, but also one where consumers get higher levels of respect in relation to the supply of goods and services.

The measure applies to all types of shops in the district of Panama, prohibiting the sale of liquor between 2 am and 9 am, Sunday through Wednesday and from 3:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
With fines ranging from $ 500 to $10,000, Bosco Vallarino, Panama City Mayor issued the decrees which also establishes schedules for the sale of alcoholic beverages.

Doing Business 2012, a report by the World Bank this year added a new area of analysis, which is the ease of obtaining an electrical connection, along with the traditional items which include: ease of starting a business, management of construction permits, registering property , getting credit, protecting investors, paying taxes, cross border trade, enforcing contracts, and insolvency resolution.

Position in 2010 Rankings: Panama 72 (62 in 2009), El Salvador 86 (80), Guatemala 101 (100), Nicaragua 117 (119), Costa Rica 125 (121), Honduras 131 (128).
With the exception of Nicaragua, which rose two places, the Doing Business 2011 ranking shows that easiness of doing business in the Central American countries has deteriorated, at least in relation to other countries.

From 1 October the number of digits stored in the Register of Unique Contributors (RUC) will increase from 10 to 14.
This date marks the coming into force of the new regulation to which all of Nicaragua's largest contributors need to comply.
