Authorities will review the $300 fee imposed on the airline industry operating in Honduras, it was decided recently.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Ministry of Works, Transport and Housing (Soptravi) are to review the landing fee of $300, recently established for charter flights.

Copa Airlines will operate 4 new destinations starting from June. The destinations are: Recife, Brazil; Guanacaste, Costa Rica; Las Vegas, USA; and the island of Curacao.

AviancaTaca Holding SA, has signed a purchase agreement with the European manufacturing firm Airbus for 51 eco-efficient aircraft.

The increase to $300 for landing fees approved by the Civil Aviation Directorate has led to the withdrawal of companies offering charter flights.
Epaminondas Marinakys, a businessman who operates charter flights, lamented the government's adoption of the policy, "while other countries are lowering tariffs in order to for more tourists to come in, in Honduras it is not the same case, instead they are increasing costs", he said

Members of the Finance Commission of El Salvador have agreed to approve a loan for $45 million to upgrade the public transport system.
A press release from the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador states that:
“The approval of a loan agreement signed between the Government of El Salvador and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), for the amount of $45 million to finance the implementation of a "Transportation Program for the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador" was the subject discussed by the deputies in the Special Committee on Finance and Budget.”

Copa Airlines passengers will have the option to connect to the island as a new destination from June.
From June 2012, Isla Colon, in the province of Bocas del Toro, Panama, will be part of the tourist destinations to which passengers can reach using the Panamanian airline Copa Airlines. The company has reached an agreement with the domestic airline Air Panama, which is responsible for transferring passengers from Tocumen International Airport to Isla Colon.

Last year, in 2011, sales totaled 23,524 vehicles, 20% more than the 19,456 units sold in 2010.
Of the units sold, 6015 were sports utility vehicles (SUV), followed by pickup trucks with 5751 and sedans with 4315 sales.

Mexico and Guatemala have agreed a policy whereby trucks entering the Guatemalan border zone pay $970, a charge that the union considers "harmful" and that is not reciprocal.
The International Transporters' Association (ITA) will challenge the agreement which regulates transportation of cargo and passengers across the border, considering it "harmful to the interests of the country (Guatemala)", reported the newspaper Prensa Libre on its website.

The company Transportes Aereos de Guatemala (TAG) announced that it aims to promote the country as a destination and increase tourism by 17%.
The general manager of TAG, Jonathan Layton, said the airline will offer air packages from Cancun to Flores, Petén and therefore increase tourism by 17% in Guatemala.
