The Mexican low-cost online Interjet aims to fly once a day between Mexico City and San Jose, Costa Rica, with an Airbus A320 craft for 150 passengers.

Greytown Airport will receive two weekly flights from Managua from the airline Costeña.
From this week, tourists can fly to San Juan de Nicaragua, located at the mouth of the river San Juan (south of the Caribbean region), with the local airline Costeña who is selling round trip tickets from Managua for $165.

ICS member companies fear a further negative impact from the effects of the global economic crisis, if Panama applies a toll hike from July 1.
The International Chamber of Shipping companies (ICS), the largest international shipping association, has asked the Panama Canal Authority (ACP in Spanish) to postpone the increase in tolls of 15%, whose first phase has been announced for 1 July.

The high price of bunker fuel is requiring carriers to update their tariffs, and export and import costs are rising, affecting international trade.
The cost of sending goods from, say, Costa Rica to the United States has risen significantly due to increased bunker fuel prices, the price of which was quoted at the beginning of the week at $600 a barrel.

The Group Avianca Taca has the growth of its operations from San Salvador with new routes which will commence operations in July.

The municipal authorities of San Pedro Sula are preparing the documents for a tender for a parking regulation and collection of charges project in the city.
The mayor of San Pedro Sula and the Public Private Partnership Association will carry out the proposed controlled parking project in order to bring order to the streets and avenues of the city, which has 830 parking spaces.

Most shipping companies have agreed to pay carriers between $1.26 and $1.29 per kilometre as a re-adjustment.
After nearly a week of strikes, 10 of the 15 shipping companies operating in the country agreed to concede to the demands of freight carriers, and they will pay an adjustment per kilometre of between $1.26 and $1.29.

The Central American country is negotiating agreements with Qatar, Turkey and China and has plans for another with Holland.
The adoption of these agreements would favor TACA (through Lacsa, registered as a national flag carrier), whose aircraft would be able to fly to these countries without restrictions regarding passengers or frequencies. For now, there are no flights to these countries.
