Employers are placing more and more value on employees ability to get involved and to take the initiative to do things independently, using innovative ideas.
Being an entrepreneur does not necessarily mean being the founder of a new businesses, but can also mean having an innovative attitude to finding solutions to problems and the habit of transforming challenges into opportunities. And that is something that can be done from inside companies.

The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) has issued a report analyzing the propensity of the Costa Rican population to participate in entrepreneurial activities.

They are of crazy ideas. Often misunderstood by their social environment and even businesses, which are usually conservative and risk averse.
They are those who dream unreasonable and unworkable projects and are willing to pursue those dreams with such determination that often become a reality.

Chile offers $ 40 thousand to entrepreneurs to live six months in Chile, raising capital, hiring people, creating and doing business.
The Chilean government announced the 2011 version of the Start-Up Chile program, which in 2010 created 25 groups of entrepreneurs, generating specific results already constituting companies with international impact.

Nokia has announced a million dollar venture challenge to encourage innovators to create a mobile product or service that raises the standard of living or enhances the lives of those in growth economies. The Growth Economy Venture Challenge is part of Nokia's global Calling All Innovators competition announced on January 7 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

This is how we are raised in Latin America, disapproving or disliking those who earn a lot of money as businessmen.
Latin America does not foster entrepreneurship. Education, specially high school, rises us with the goal of getting a good job, as opposed to owning a business.
The problem is cultural, and has its roots in our educational systems, which pay a lot of attention to the protection of workers, leaving aside those who undertake business project and became businessmen.

The Legatum Prosperity Index, measuring wealth and well-being, places Costa Rica first in Latin America and 32nd in the world.
Panama is in the 42nd position, El Salvador 60th, Honduras 66th, Guatemala 67th and Nicaragua 72nd.
