Some 145 Salvadoran companies will participate this year in international fairs, particularly those related to the food and beverage sector.
Some 145 firms, mostly medium and small sized, will participate in trade fairs in Germany, Colombia, Taiwan and Panama, among other countries, and it is expected that deals will be made worth around $30 million.

At the International Tourism Fair of Madrid 2012 (FITUR), the region is jointly aiming to give impetus to sustainable tourism.
The Costa Rican Tourism Minister, Alan Flores Moya said one of the objectives is to present the region as multi cultural and nature filled.
"Aside from presenting the national plans of each Central American country, Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Honduras and Belize will be in the Spanish capital targeting the European market as one of their preferred customers, as several ministers told Efe Tourism in the region.

With the support of private enterprise and the Government, from November 29th to December 1st, the first Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Fair will be held.
The aim of the fair is to promote the use and application of information and communications technology, said Gilberto Lara from the company Connection, promoter of the event.

From today until October 21st, Playa Bonita in Panama City will host the eighth edition of the trade fair.
In the Figali Convention Center, 150 tour operators will be promoting the Central region as a tourist destination.

The theme for the Expo Telecom 2011 is "Smart Cities - maximum integration between human contact and technology”.
Smart Cities proposes a complete integration between channels, with constant availability to users and where the primary objective is user friendliness. Panama is to host the eighth regional tourism fair, known as the ‘Central American Travel Market’ (CATM).
The event will take place in the Figali Convention Center in Panama from 19 to 21 October 2011.
The Central American Travel Market Fair (CATM) is a technical-professional encounter, in which Central American tourism providers offer an opportunity to establish trade relations with with major wholesale international source markets such as Europe (primary market), Asia and Latin America among others.

The fairs organized by European countries and trade missions by Guatemalan businessmen, together with the government, are two of the reasons for the increase in exports to countries like Germany, Italy and Belgium, among others.

The promotion of Nicaraguan firms in international markets during 2011 has already borne fruit in closed deals for $20 million.
During recent participation in Mexico’s Food Fair, six companies were able to do business with the Aztec nation, including Agropecuaria de Exportaciones, Parmalat Centroamérica and Cafetalera Castellón.
