Investments could take the form of a refinery, a logistics center and tourism projects in the Caribbean zone of Panama.
Three foreign consortia have expressed interest in settling in the free zone of Baru, Chiriqui Province, to build a logistics center, a refinery for processing hydrocarbons, and a tourist center, taking advantage of the Baru area’s geographical position, as well as the pipeline which can transport oil from the Caribbean to the Pacific and vice versa, said the Minister of Commerce, Ricardo Quijano.

Nine companies and consortia participated in the preliminary meeting for the tender of a shipyard in Balboa, convened by the Panama Maritime Authority.
Representatives of nine companies and consortia, among them nationals and foreigners, attended the meeting for the approval of the specifications of the best value tender for the provision and operation of Braswell Shipyard in Balboa, reported Prensa.com.

The Maritime Authority is putting out to tender the development, management and operation of a shipyard on the Pacific coast at the Port of Balboa.
The shipyard is located on the Pacific side of Panama and has three docks for repairing ships, one of which has the same dimensions as the locks capable of handling Panamax vessels or five small ships at once. It is considered a very important asset for the maritime industry.

For the third time in the last 8 years a feasibility study has been done for the development of rail links within the Greater Metropolitan Area of Costa Rica's capital.
Funding for this study now comes from a donation of $800 thousand from the Spanish state run company Ferrocarriles de Vía Estrecha (FEVE), which in recent years has worked with railroad equipment currently in use by the Costa Rican Institute of Railways (Incofer).

The First Chamber of the Supreme Court of Costa Rica has dismissed appeals filed by the company Industrias Infinito.

The extension of the contract with Airports of Honduras until 2040 is subject to a $300 million investment including the construction of a new terminal at Palmerola.
The current contract is for 25 years and expires in 2020, the extension until 2040 must be submitted to the Honduran Congress for approval.
Public Works Minister, Miguel Pastor told the press, "We want an international airport in Comayagua (Palmerola) that does not have the problems of size and safety that Toncontin (Tegucigalpa) has, and for this, investment is being made in improving the road network to the area and facilitating the flow of trade and passengers.
